What an awesome series for the St. Louis Cardinals! After being one strike away from elimination in game 6 twice the St. Louis Cardinals beat the Texas Rangers in Game 7 by a score of 6-2 to win the 2011 World Series.
Chad Carpenter pitched 6 strong innings giving up 2 runs to keep the powerful Rangers lineup in check and the bullpen pitched three shutout innings and not allowing a hit. Awesome job by the St. Louis Cardinals pitching staff.
This marks the 11th time the St. Louis Cardinals have won the World Series with the most recent being in 2006. St. Louis has some of the best baseball fans in the game and a city like this that supports their team deserves to hoist another World Series banner to the rafters.
